Do you provide baby cots and high chairs
Yes, there is a foldable travel cot/playpen and a highchair in each lodge. Please note that cot bedding is not provided.
What activities are there to do?
The price includes unlimited free use of the Ben Nevis Leisure Club. The Club has a very nice swimming pool, sauna, steam room, spa bath and fitness suite. Half price Golf at Fort William Golf is also available to guests. Each lodge has wireless Broadband internet, Surround sound cinema TV/DVD system and a CD and DVD library is on site.
Do you have laundry facilities?
Lodges 1, 3, 4 and 5 have a washer dryer. Lodges 2, 6 and 7 have a washing machine. Pls bring washing powder as this is not supplied. A drying service is available for lodges 2, 6 and 7.
What happens if I have to cancel?
In usual circumstances, the 25% deposit is non-refundable. If you cancel within 6 weeks of your arrival date then we can only give refunds if we are able to re-sell the lodge. We recommend that you take out travel insurance. We have negotiated special rates with World First Travel Insurance. Please click on the link on the Availability page.
Are any lodges dog free?
We aim to keep lodges 6 and 7 free of dogs although we cannot always guarantee this. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
Do you offer short breaks?
Yes, we offer short breaks all year round. Our minimum stay is 3 nights although 2 night stays are sometimes available. Please click on 'availability and booking' to check your dates.
Where can I play golf?
Birchbrae guests can take advantage of half price golf at Fort William Golf Course and free golf at Dragonstooth Golf Course in Ballachulish.
Can I book more than one lodge?
We do not accept group bookings booked online. If you require more than one lodge please call us on 01855 821261 or email info@birchbrae.com. We may ask for a £50 bond per lodge (to be returned after departure).
Can I smoke in the lodge?
All our lodges are now no smoking lodges. You can however smoke on the verandah which has outdoor chairs, a table and is weatherproof (from the rain!)
Can I bring my dog?
Yes, we allow 2 dogs per lodge. There is a £20 charge per dog. We do ask that they are not left on their own in the lodge and kept off the beds and furniture. The nearest dog kennels are in Kentallan (Jackdaw Kennels 01855 811716) who also offer a daily dog minding service.
I am disabled. Will I be able to come to Birchbrae?
Yes. Lodge 5 has been designed for wheelchair access although other lodges may also be suitable. Find out more information about our Lodges with Disabled Facilities here or call us to discuss your requirements.
Whats included in the price?
All electricity, linen and a set of towels are included and things such as dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, tea towels and dishcloths. Other things provided include a torch, kitchen roll, large clothes airer and refuse sacks. We also provide an iron and ironing board as well as a hairdryer. If you plan on doing any clothes washing you might want to bring some washing powder with you.
What do we need to bring?
Only food, drink and personal toiletries.
