Below you will find the answers to some of our most commonly asked questions from guests at Birchbrae. Have a read through and if you have a question that isn't answered here, please do get in touch.

What are your cleaning protocols in light of Covid-19?

Our cleaning protocols are in line with those documented by the Scottish Government and our Trade Body; ASSC.  We are certified by the UK 'Good to Go' Industry Standard which shows that we follow government and industry COVID-19 guidelines, that we have a Risk Assessment in place and a process to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing. In addition to this, we've received the World Travel & Tourism Council’s 'Safe Travels' certificate to give our international guests peace of mind.

Do you offer any discounts?

You'll only ever receive the best deal by booking direct with us, guaranteed.

For guests who book directly with us for 3 nights or more we also offer: a 10% discount on up to 2 guests staying, a Multi-Lodge discount and our returning guests always receive a 10% discount when booking a stay of 3 nights or more.

What's included in the price?

All electricity, linen & towels and wi-fi are included.

We have a dual EV charger on site which must be used for charging electric vehicles.

We also provide an initial supply of dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, bin liners, kitchen roll, toilet rolls and hand wash to help you settle in before you find the nearest supermarket. Other items provided include a torch, clothes airer, an iron and ironing board as well as a hairdryer per bedroom. Please bring washing powder as this is not supplied.

Please note that we do not have a license to provide any food stuffs at all.

Can I charge my electric vehicle at Birchbrae?
We have a dual EV charger on site which must be used for charging electric vehicles. Electric vehicles must not be charged from the Lodge.
I am disabled. Will I be able to come to Birchbrae?

Yes. Staffa has been designed for wheelchair access although other lodges may also be suitable. Please feel free to call us to discuss your requirements. Staffa has been assessed by Visit Scotland to be Category 3 (access for those with mobility impairment). Please note that Staffa is not suitable for large electric wheelchairs.

Do you provide baby cots and high chairs?

Yes, these can be hired for your stay. Please select each item at our online checkout. Please note that cot bedding is not provided.

What activities are there to do?

The Lochaber area is known as the 'Outdoor Capital of the UK' and as such, there are many things to see and do. From walking to cycling and wildlife tours to skiing, there’s something for everyone. For our selection of the best, click here. We have also secured a 20% discount on local leisure and adventure activities. Each Lodge has wireless Broadband internet, 50″ flat screen surround sound cinema Smart TV.

Do you have laundry facilities?

All lodges have a washer dryer except for Eriska and Seil which have a washing machine only. Please bring washing powder as this is not supplied.

What happens if I have to cancel?

Cancellations must be made in writing by the individual who placed the booking. The deposit is refundable only if a written request to cancel the booking is received prior to the balance due date which falls due 14 days prior to your arrival. We recommend that you arrange your own travel insurance. Please see our Terms and Conditions for further detail.

Are all of the Lodges dog friendly?

Yes, all of our Lodges are dog friendly.

There is a set charge of £30 per dog, per stay, per Lodge entered. Please see our Terms and Conditions which provides full details of our dog policy.

Can I book a specific Lodge?

Bookings are not guaranteed for a specific Lodge except for Staffa which is our Access Friendly Lodge. Bookings may be moved to another Lodge and you will always be advised which Lodge you will be staying in prior to your arrival.

Do you offer short breaks?

Yes, we offer short breaks all year round.   For our best prices and availability, book online through this website.

Can I book more than one Lodge?

If you require more than one Lodge please call us on 07482 252 060 or 07999 532 180 or email info@birchbrae.com to discuss your requirements. We offer a Multi-Lodge discount for stays of 3 nights or more, which can only be applied by contacting us directly. We may ask for a £50 bond per Lodge (to be returned on departure). We do not accept group bookings made online and reserve the right to cancel these.

Which pets are allowed at Birchbrae?

Dogs are allowed at Birchbrae. We allow 3 dogs per Lodge. There is a £30 charge per dog, per stay, per Lodge entered. We do not allow dogs to be left on their own in the Lodge and they must be kept off the beds and furniture. The nearest dog kennels are in Annat, Fort William (Camus Na Ha Kennels 01397 772574) or Highbridge Kennels and Cattery at Spean Bridge (01397 712567).  Sorry but we do not accept cats or any other pets.

If we want to dine out, are there any restaurants locally?

There are a number of restaurants between Glencoe and Onich and Fort William offers a wide further selection. Many of the local bars and restaurants are dog friendly. For details on the immediate area, click here.
