Our
Ethos
We are Jim and Pauline Drummond, the owners of Birchbrae Highland lodges. We purchased Birchbrae in 2016, with a dream of offering people the perfect location to holiday in Lochaber; a place we spent many years visiting for our own family holidays. Ensuring that our guests love this wonderful part of the world as much as we do is our number one priority. We are a family business with our son helping out remotely and we have a small but wonderful team of Housekeepers.
Lochaber is famed for its rugged wilderness, family friendly community and access to the world of outdoor sports. These are the principles which guide us at Birchbrae. Situated in a secluded forest, surrounded by nature and wildlife, we have a duty and responsibility to do all we can to support nature to thrive on our grounds; from maintaining bee friendly wildflowers, to providing feeders for resident red squirrels.
We hope that you choose to stay at Birchbrae Highland Lodges and love this area as much as we do. If you have any questions about staying with us, please contact us.
Our Lodges &
Sustainability
We believe that as a business that benefits from the beauty of the natural world, it is incumbent on us to do everything we can to support our planet and local eco-systems, which is why:
We have no Single-use Plastics.
All of our resort and local information is online so there is no paper waste.
We promote the use of eco-friendly cleaning products.
We use 100% renewably generated energy – much of which comes from our own onsite solar panels.
We personally take glass waste to the local recycling point.
Our Charity Partners
In 2018 we established a charity partnership. Who Cares? Scotland, is Scotland’s only national independent membership organisation for Care Experienced people, with a mission to secure a lifetime of equality, respect and love for all Care Experienced people in Scotland. This is a hugely important charity to us and our family and we are proud to raise money annually to support their work with people across Scotland. When you stay at Birchbrae, you support this charity, and we thank you for that.
