Our

Staffa at Birchbrae Highland Lodges has been enhanced to provide a number of facilities for guests with mobility difficulties. It has all the luxurious features of the other six lodges but in addition has a number of wheelchair friendly adaptations. Staffa has been assessed by Visit Scotland to be Category 3 (access for those with mobility impairment). Please click here for more details.

Whilst Staffa is perfect for disabled holiday accommodation, it has been designed with inclusivity in mind so is also suitable for able bodied guests.

Ease of Access to our Accessible Lodge

Accessible Accommodation

Staffa has full ramp access into the single storey disabled accommodation. The accommodation itself is spacious and has ample room for manoeuvring in a wheelchair or with sticks/crutches. Note that Staffa may not be suitable for all types of electric wheelchairs or electric scooters. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

2 Shower Rooms

Staffa has two bathrooms (both shower only). The main bathroom is a complete wet room with disabled shower enclosure, grab rails and raised toilet. A wheel in chair is provided. The additional shower room has a standard shower and grab rails.

Space to Manouvre

The Lodge has wooden flooring in all public areas as well as the master bedroom and the rear bedroom for ease of movement and the verandah has been enlarged to provide ample space for both sitting and access.

Doorstep Parking

There is a disabled parking space reserved outside Staffa.

Fantastic Self-contained Holiday Escape

Located near Onich it’s a great spot to be close enough to tons of walking areas and feel isolated from the world. It’s very clean and kitchen has all equipment you need to cook meals for a family. Beds very comfortable. Curtains keep out most of the light in summer. Bathrooms modern and in great condition. A great stay!

Where to start?! The owners, Jim and Pauline are the best hosts that you can imagine. Even with our arrival schedule, they helped us out great, and always with a smile.
